We start by excavating the area to 300mm depth, removing all spoil as we go. Membrane is laid over the area before a base of 200mm of type 3 mot is compacted. Type 3 is used as it is perfect for draining.
We then lay porcelain strips or blocks edges, before an open graded tarmac base coat is laid to the depth of 80mm. Resin bound is mixed on site and laid using a sledge. Resin is then troweled to a smooth finish.
We are a fully qualified and experienced team of bonded resin driveways. You can find our work all over Cheshire, including Winsford, Middlewich, Northwich, Nantwich, Crewe, Sandbach, and nearby areas. Find out how we can transform your driveway with resin gravel at highly competitive prices.

Kevin and his lads laid a new driveway for us some time ago. They did an absolutely first class job and they did it when they said they would do it! After considerable use it is still in first class condition and a credit to the

Why Choose a Bonded Resin Driveway?
They are permeable, allowing rainwater to drain through and preventing puddles or flooding. The surface is also highly durable. It resists cracks, weeds, and stains while remaining easy to maintain.
Resin is a great choice if you want a driveway that looks elegant, lasts for years and adds real kerb appeal to your property.
How Much Does a Resin Driveway Cost?
The cost of a resin driveway depends on the size of the area, the type of base required and the finish you choose.
For most homes in Cheshire, prices typically start from around £180 per m². This includes preparation and installation. Re-surfacing an existing base is often cheaper than a full dig-out and replacement.

How Are Resin Driveways Made?
The process begins with careful preparation of the existing surface, which is typically concrete, tarmac, or asphalt. Our skilled team ensures that the base is clean, dry, and structurally sound before proceeding. Once the surface is ready, we apply a strong, UV-stable resin binder evenly across the area. This resin acts as an adhesive layer, bonding the top layer of aggregate to the base.
After the resin has been spread, a selected blend of decorative gravel or natural stone aggregate is scattered across the surface. This not only creates a beautifully textured and rustic finish, but also allows for a wide range of aesthetic choices in terms of color and stone type. The resin quickly begins to cure, locking the gravel in place and forming a stable, permeable surface that allows water to drain through efficiently—helping to reduce puddling and support sustainable drainage.
Unlike traditional loose gravel driveways, which can shift, scatter, or require frequent upkeep, a resin gravel surface offers significantly improved stability and low maintenance. It’s ideal for driveways, paths, patios, and other outdoor spaces where you want the natural look of stone without the inconvenience of constant sweeping or raking.
With KJW Landscapes, you can expect a seamless installation process, attention to detail, and a final product that enhances your property’s kerb appeal and long-term value. Whether you’re updating an old driveway or starting a new landscaping project, our resin gravel systems offer a practical, attractive, and lasting solution.
FAQs
Why has there been an increase in demand for rasin driveways?
What is one of the main benefits of rasin driveways compared to block paved or gravel driveways?
Do resin driveways require a lot of maintenance?
No, resin driveways are very low-maintenance. Unlike loose gravel or block paving, they don’t shift or attract weeds easily. Simple cleaning with a hose or pressure washer every so often is usually enough to keep the surface looking fresh.
How long does it typically take for resin bound surfaces to set before they can be used?
How long does a resin driveway last?
With proper installation and care, a resin bound driveway can last 15 years or more. The exact lifespan will depend on the quality of the base, the resin used and how well it is maintained. Many homeowners enjoy their resin driveways for decades without major issues.
Is planning permission needed for a resin bound driveway in Cheshire?
In most cases, planning permission is not required. Resin bound driveways are SUDS compliant, which means they are permeable and allow water to drain naturally. This makes them an environmentally friendly option that usually meets local council requirements.
